Recycling Cans and Bottles
If you are not already doing this for the Green dough you get back in return, then you should at least be doing it for the Green environment it helps to protect. Ok, no more lecturing about saving the earth…
But seriously, it is quite amazing how many bottles/cans of pop, beer, wine, water and juices an average family goes through in a year. When you add it all up, it can actually turn out to be a sizable return (in the hundreds of dollars for many families over a year period). Some families turn it into a family event/challenge and get the kids involved as well. There is a reason why some charity events do bottle drives to raise funds for their cause (because as I said earlier, it really can ADD up).
Recycling not only helps return some loose change into our wallets, but teaches us and our kids not to take mother nature for granted – oops, borderline lecturing again…
